    What is Generic Medicine?

A generic medicine can be defined as a substitute or a bioequivalent to a branded medicine with the same chemical composition. This substitute medicine should meet the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic standards. This substitute medicine becomes a cost effective solution to users.

A generic drug should meet the standards of its innovator brand by using the same active ingredients with the same level of strength. This medicine or drug is consumed in much the same manner as the innovator brand. Other factors like route of administration, safety precautions and usage become identical as well.
